Separate Google's requirements from speculation
Google's current guidance says established SEO remains relevant to its generative search features. Eligible pages need to be indexed and available for snippets, and the site must be included through the Search Console generative AI control. Eligibility does not guarantee an appearance.
There is no special schema or AI text file required for Google's AI features. Its guidance says Google Search does not use llms.txt for visibility. Those statements concern Google, not every independent AI service.
Start with decisions your customers actually face
Our review begins with a short set of customer decisions: comparing services, checking product suitability or understanding a limitation. We identify where your current pages give incomplete answers and what original material your business can contribute.
For example, a shop might supply a compatibility comparison based on its actual product specifications. A service firm might explain the information needed to assess a job. The first deliverable is a brief identifying what to add, what to verify and which page should carry the information.
- Agree a small question set linked to real services or products.
- List missing facts and who can approve them.
- Improve the relevant existing page before proposing another URL.
Review access and business information together
The work can include crawl and rendering checks, navigation, visible business details and consistency with relevant product or local listings. We record any proposed access-control change and ask the owner to approve its purpose before implementation.
The handover distinguishes technical defects, editorial opportunities and optional experiments. An expensive publishing programme should not be the default response to a broken page, an inaccurate service description or an unanswered customer question.
Use current reporting without overstating it
As checked in October 2026, Google documents a Generative AI performance report showing impressions for supported Search features. A property with insufficient impressions may not show the report. We confirm the available data before agreeing reporting deliverables.
Impressions are not enquiries or sales. Sampled answers from other services are recorded with their date, question and context, not presented as a universal visibility score. The review ends with prioritised work and explicit measurement gaps, not a citation promise.
Common questions
Do I need special AI schema or an llms.txt file?
Not for Google's AI search features. Useful structured data can have other search purposes, but neither special markup nor an AI text file is an entry requirement.
Can you guarantee that an AI answer recommends me?
No. Freya can improve information and investigate access issues, but cannot control which businesses or pages an external system selects.
Is Google guidance enough for every AI platform?
No. Each service needs its own current evidence. Any wider platform work must define which systems, questions and observations are actually in scope.
